LESSO Solar obtains Italian Class 1 fire certification

LESSO Solar’s N-TOPCon single-glass and double-glass series modules have successfully passed a series of rigorous tests, in compliance with the UNI 9177 standard, earning Italy’s highest fire safety certification (Class 1). The modules received certification from the internationally recognized TÜV Rheinland and TÜV SÜD. This milestone highlights LESSO Solar’s dedication to achieving industry-leading standards and excellence in quality, and serves as another testament to the product’s superior quality, high efficiency, and exceptional reliability.

Why is Italian Class 1 fire certification considered the toughest in Europe?
Italian fire certification adheres to the strict UNI 9177 framework, which ranks materials on a scale from 1 (best) to 5 (worst). The certification evaluates not only a material’s resistance to flame exposure based on the UNI 8457 standard but also assesses flame spread performance under radiant heat conditions, as outlined by UNI 9174.

Only after passing these core tests with top marks can a photovoltaic module be awarded the highest rating under the UNI 9177 standard—Class 1. This certification is issued by Italian National Fire Department, representing the highest level of fire safety in the industry. Given the stringent criteria set by this authority, which surpass those of most European countries, the certification is widely regarded as one of Europe’s most rigorous fire safety tests.

Why is fire safety crucial for solar modules?
As solar power technology advances and applications expand, new safety challenges, particularly the risk of fire, are increasingly coming to the forefront. Against this backdrop, the successful certification of our N-type single-glass and double-glass modules marks a significant achievement, demonstrating that these products meet the highest safety standards in fire protection. But what enables LESSO Solar’s N-type series to pass such stringent testing?

Compared to standard products, LESSO Solar’s N-type modules offer an extended lifespan. Through innovative sealing technology, these modules create an exceptional protective barrier, effectively shielding against micro-cracks, acid and alkali corrosion, salt mist damage, water vapor infiltration, UV degradation, and potential-induced degradation (PID) effects, ensuring comprehensive protection.

Furthermore, advanced flame-retardant materials and intelligent fire safety designs enhance the modules’ resilience in harsh environments, from the extreme heat of deserts to the varied climates of agricultural lands. This durability promotes long-term stable operation across diverse application scenarios, ensuring superior sustainability.

With exceptional fire protection and eco-friendly advantages, LESSO Solar provides a robust safety solution for high-risk environments, offering a green energy option that addresses fire risks. The company remains committed to strengthening safety standards and advancing sustainability, aiming to introduce safer photovoltaic solutions to global markets.

LESSO Solar will continue to lead in technological innovation, actively contributing to global sustainability efforts. The company is committed to making green energy solutions more efficient, supporting the creation of a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.
